This is the Capstone piece of work by Dr. Marzano and his researchers. It provides an overview of research on effective instruction which he has put into a framework built on 3 distinct lesson segments including 10 specific Design Questions for teachers to use to build high quality instruction. It is recommended as an important portal to the other courses available in this series.

Formative assessment matched to clear targets should be used to directly drive effective instruction. This course is designed to help teachers match assessment to goals and objectives, develop scales and rubrics, design assessments and techniques for tracking student progress and approaches to meaningful grading practices.
