The State Board of Education adopted a model acceleration policy for advanced learners at its April 2006 meeting.
Every school district in the state of Ohio has a board approved acceleration policy. It is the law to accept any referrals for review and follow procedures to evaluate the referred candidate. There are four types of acceleration possibilities. These include: Early Entrance to Kindergarten, Single Subject Acceleration, Whole grade acceleration, and Early Graduation from High School.
