In a time of online, hybrid, and in-person instruction, how do educators craft a creative and collaborative learning environment and experiences that engage students, while also satisfying curricular goals and objectives? During this session we will explore project-based music experiences that have been successful in engaging students’ creativity, autonomy, and differentiated learning needs. We will discuss research that undergirds these strategies and provide a forum of discussion among session participants during which they will be encouraged to share their success stories in light of student collaboration and project-based learning in the (virtual) music classroom.

Presenter:  Dr. Jody Kerchner, Mr. Will Kish
