This one-day workshop has been designed for elementary and middle school teachers who want to learn a series of practical teaching strategies that align to the new Social Studies Standards and the Next-Generation Assessments. Teachers will be engaged in practicing the activities during the workshop rather than just hearing about them. They will leave with many ready-to-implement tools for teaching history, geography, economics, and government. These are ideas and tools which the ESC has not seen before since the workshop was designed as a follow-up to previous workshops—although newcomers can join in as well! The professional support will continue through the EduPlanet 21 platform so that teachers can try out activities in their classrooms, share their experiences with one another online, and receive on-going guidance from an expert in the field.
