Target Audience - Middle School and High School Math Teachers
The Desmos calculator will be the online calculator for our Spring Ohio State Tests.
During this course, we will experience the Desmos Classroom Activities as students and model classroom discussion and reflection via the conversation tools and dashboard. After familiarizing ourselves with their stock of pre-made activities, participants will build custom activities through the Activity Builder, all the while following the activity building code laid out by Desmos. Beginner and veteran Desmosians are welcome; a laptop or tablet is required.
Trainer:
David Sabol is the Mathematics Department Chair at Saint Ignatius High School, teaching all high school grade levels in Algebra I, Geometry, and AP Calculus. He participated in the Desmos Teaching Fellowship starting with the first cohort in 2016 and has since become a Desmos Certified Presenter. A firm believer that studying math is a social endeavor, he seeks out technology resources that facilitate greater student interaction.
Participants should bring a laptop or tablet.
