All About Dr. Knapp...
Katie Anderson Knapp holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Social Studies Education. She is a professor at Kent State University. After teaching Social Studies and Language Arts for ten years in elementary and middle school classrooms, mostly in Cleveland Heights and Dublin, Ohio, Katie began teaching pre-service and in-service teachers at John Carroll University and Kent State University.
Her research focuses on engaging students in Social Studies while improving historical thinking skills. She publishes and presents her work about family history in the classroom and helps teachers to motivate their students by connecting content to meaningful life experiences.
