If you have never attended training with Dr. Raj Shah, this workshop is for you!

We will focus on growing students' conceptual understanding of math and promoting productive struggle and meaningful discourse. You’ll learn how to finally move from teacher-centered, direct instruction and towards student-centered, problem based learning.?

Dr. Shah will share five principles for making math irresistible for kids. This is done through a combination of stories and math activities. In the process, we will highlight several keys to sparking student curiosity, encouraging productive struggle, and promoting meaningful student discourse.?

We will end the day with 90 minutes of planning time so that teachers can implement what they’ve learned, get feedback and then start making changes to classroom culture and expectations right away!
 

On-site coaching dates - Nov. 5 or Nov. 6, 2019

 

Cost: Free-LC Members  

          $100 non-members - PD only

          $500 non-members - coaching only

           (additional cost per on-site coaching session)
