The first years of life are crucial to the health, brain development, and future of a child. Early experiences affect learning as well as social and emotional development crucial to well being and future success.
What children know and can do when they start school helps determine their success in the classroom, workplace, and throughout their lives. The Region 2 State Support Team provides support in the areas of regular and special education, focusing on children from birth through age 8, regardless of their educational setting. Professional development and technical assistance are provided to teachers, administrators and parents in school districts, Head Starts, County Boards of Developmental Delay, Help Me Grow and community preschool and child care programs in Erie, Huron and Lorain Counties. These services focus around Ohio’s Early Learning Program Guidelines and the Early Learning Content Standards as well as compliance with state and federal law.

LITERACY ROCKS!
We would like to invite all districts and organizations to join us in celebrating Literacy Week that begins with this wonderful and exciting kick off at the Midway Mall on May 4th (view flyer below). This 2nd annual event has been designed by the Lorain County Literacy Collaborative. We encourage any organization to participate sometime during the week of May 6th-11 by designing their own in house rock painting activity to show support for literacy!
Please visit our sponsors to see their display of rock painting from last year! If you have any questions please contact Vicki Barbaro at 440-324-5777 ext 1107 or email Barbaro@esclc.org. or visit our website http://literacyrocksloraincounty.webs.com/ for ideas. We would also love to see your events.
Please share this event with all administrators, parents, students and staff.
