My role and responsibilities as an educational audiologist encompasses being well informed on federal and state legislation related to audiology services for children birth to 21 years of age, having knowledge of the effects of hearing loss on communication and academic performance and the skills to interpret objective data to evaluate and monitor the effects of hearing loss and classroom acoustics.
Services/Technical Assistance to participating school districts includes:

- diagnostic hearing evaluations through a referral process;
- selection and fitting of student personal FM system;
- assess a student's functional ability to access auditory information in the classroom which demonstrates a linkage of diagnostic information to educational services/ accommodations
- instruction to students and school personnel on the use and specific troubleshooting techniques of amplification systems (hearing aids, cochlear implants, soundfield systems and assistive listening devices);
- analysis of classroom noise and modifications to improve the listening environment to insure acoustic accessibility;
