Agency Cross-Training Seminars and a Resource Guide Offered

Lorain County has a wealth of agencies, organizations, services and people who work with children and youth. We are continuously improving this Resource Guide for use by agencies, schools child/youth workers and parents in order to facilitate networking between child/youth workers and getting young people and their families connected with the appropriate resources. Agency Cross-Training are offered to familiarize people with many agencies serving children and youth in Lorain County and what those agencies offer. The 2009-10 sessions are scheduled for October 7 and 21, 2009 and April 15 and 29, 2010. Each session will run from 8am-noon and showcase up to ten different agencies, allowing each agency who serves children and youth to use any format they wish to get their message across in 20-30 minutes. They focus on information about themselves, services they provide & how to access them, their service population, intake and administrative procedures, governing board, inter-agency activities, Q&A, etc. These sessions are held at the Educational Service Center of Lorain County, in their newly renovated conference room that seats 120 people.
