The 2010 Lorain County Solo & Ensemble Contest is February 20, 2010, and will be held at Midview High School, 38199 Capel Road, Grafton, OH, 44044.

Lorain County Solo & Ensemble Contest is available to all music students whether that student is taught by a private instructor or public school teacher. Students need not be a resident of Lorain County to register.  To encourage students to take private lessons, we are constantly updating our list of private teachers as a resource for music teachers, parents and students. If you have someone to add please email the information to Robin Scarberry. This event takes place the entire day and involves over 700 separate performances and over one hundred personnel and volunteers to make it run smoothly.
Once an entry is submitted, it gets carefully scheduled in it's appropriate category among 20 carefully selected judges. This schedule is published on-line at this site two weeks prior to the event.
We are always hopeful that each soloist (except piano and drums) will have an accompanist so the Driscol Music Company will provide a piano or electronic keyboard instrument in each performance room. We are constantly updating our list of accompanists as a resource for music teachers, parents and students. If you have someone to add please email the information to Robin Scarberry. Jazz solos may use a recorded accompanist (please click on Jazz Solo below for more information about this.)  We are allowing use of the Intelligent Accompaniment software.  Click HERE for the guidelines for using IA.
