Grades 3-4 Bee at 2:00pm….. Spellers must arrive by 1:30pm
Grades 5-6 Bee at 4:00pm……Spellers must arrive by 3:30pm
The ESC Spelling Bees are for students in grades 3 & 4 (Bee starts at 2:00pm and spellers must arrive in the Green Room on or before 1:30pm) and grades 5 & 6 (Bee starts at 4:00pm and spellers must arrive in the Green Room on or before 3:30pm). Spellers must be enrolled in a school district in Lorain County and have a Spelling Bee Advisor who:
- Registers their School District’s participation with ESCLC’s Projects Coordinator by April 8, 2010
- Coordinates the selection of the 5 Spellers representing their school district
- Enrolls their 5 spellers in the appropriate Bee with ESCLC’s Projects Coordinator by April 23, 2010
- Does all coordinating, informing & sharing of word lists, rules, and other information with their School District parents, competitive spellers, administrators, students and others
Bee rules and published word lists may be accessed below. We request that our word lists not be used to select your 5 Spellers. The intent of our published word list is that students may study from this list as these words will be the actual words used in the first two rounds of the ESCLC Elementary Spelling Bee on May 2. It is our hope that no one gets eliminated in the first two rounds; we hope every competitive speller has studies their word list and makes it to round three of their competition. After round two, the words get harder and they may be words the Speller has never seen.
