In this presentation, we will explore Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) as powerful tools for supporting individuals with communication deficits. Participants will learn about different types of AAC systems, ranging from low-tech to high-tech devices, and the essential role they play in promoting communication, engagement and connection with others. We’ll discuss best practices regarding implementation of AAC tools or services in the classroom environment. Through real-life examples, hands-on demonstrations, and practical tips, this presentation will equip educators and therapists with strategies to foster communication success for students of all abilities. Join us to discover how AAC and AT can enhance independence, inclusion and participation in the school setting.
