Advancing our Students’ Writing in All Grades: The Writing Revolution Book Study

Target Audience:  All Educators

The Writing Revolution focuses on explicit teaching strategies that match students' needs by boosting reading comprehension, enhancing speaking skills, improving organizational and study skills and developing analytical capabilities.  

Participants will…
-Develop an understanding of The Six Principles of The Writing Revolution
-Create resources to apply in current classroom instruction
-Reflect upon current teaching practices
-Identify ways to shift instruction and teaching practices to support all learners

We will have 5 one hour long Zoom meetings (4-5 pm) to facilitate discussions regarding chapters and assignments from the text:
-Welcome and roll out of book study framework
-Introduction and Chapters 1-2
-Chapters 3-5
-Chapters 6-8
-Chapters 9-10

*All participants are responsible for purchasing their own copy of The Writing Revolution A Guide to Advancing Thinking Through Writing in All Subjects and Grades written by Judith C. Hochman & Natalie Wexler.*

CANCELLATION POLICY:
EVENTS REQUIRING A REGISTRATION FEE:  We must receive your cancellation in writing by emailing [email protected] at least 24-hours prior to the event date for a full refund. If you do not cancel or are a no-show, you/your district will be invoiced the full event fee.

EVENTS WITH NO REGISTRATION FEE:   We must receive your cancellation in writing by emailing [email protected] at least 24-hours  prior to the event.  If you do not cancel or are a no-show, you/your district will be invoiced a $25 registration fee since our presenters prepare their presentation and may charge an event/planning fee.

In the case of an emergency or situations out of the ordinary, registrations are transferable to another colleague.
