March is Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Awareness Month.

Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI) among adolescents is gaining increased recognition, in social media in particular, and schools are often concerned about how to respond to this complex behavior.  This presentation will provide practical guidelines about how to detect this behavior and intervene to support young people and will answer the question of whether students engaging in self-injury are suicidal. Dr. Poland will outline the many factors involved in this complex behavior and provide sample guidelines for schools, parents, and community.
