Having your own self-awareness while decision-making can benefit your students in learning emotional regulation skills. By gaining emotional regulation in the classroom, on the bus, in the cafeteria, or even on the playground, students can use creative and healthy coping skills allowing for a stronger and more positive school climate, teacher-student engagement, and overall performance of our students. In this session, we will look at what emotional intelligence and mindfulness are and aren’t, and we will look at tools for ourselves and our students.
