Having trouble coming up with that perfect Christmas gift?  Why not consider celebrating reading by giving a child a book every month for one year.  The ESC is on the Leadership Team for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library which is a national program brought to Lorain County to provide children, ages birth to 5 years old, a free book every month.  A $25 donation (tax deductible) covers one student for a year delivered directly to their home.

An estimated 800+ teachers, administrators and service providers in the Clearview, Columbia, Firelands, Keystone, Sheffield/Sheffield Lake, Oberlin and Wellington school districts participated in a Common Professional Development Day on Nov. 6 held at Lorain County Community College. Participants started their day with a keynote presentation entitled, Deliberate Optimism: Reclaiming the Joy in Education, with internationally-renowned speaker and author Jack Berckemeyer. The planning team carefully designed 73 sessions to meet individual professional development needs of both classified and certified staff. Each participant selected four sessions related to their role in the district.
