EVENT IS FIVE DAYS - May 15, 18, June 10-12, 2015 (must attend all five days)

LeanOhio Boot Camp is for local Lean leaders who work in Ohio cities, townships, counties, school districts, public universities, and other governmental agencies and organizations. The week-long session is entirely practical, with extensive hands-on instruction on Lean methods and tools.

The training is filled with public-sector examples and exercises. Included is an in-depth simulation involving a prototypical agency, so participants build their toolkits by way of a real-world situation. They will be able to use their new knowledge and skills immediately -- to make government simpler, faster, better, and less costly.

Scholarships are available through the Local Government Efficiency Program.
Click here for information. Participants should have support from their organization leadership to attend -- and then to apply Lean concepts and tools in their workplace.

When LeanOhio Boot Camp participants complete their week of training, they are newly equipped to:

• Scope an improvement project
• Make invisible processes visible so they can be dramatically simplified
• Be an effective improvement team member
• Identify and remove waste
• Eliminate batching and other enemies of speed
• Decrease the complexity of processes and eliminate unneeded steps
• Develop requirements for an efficient process before implementing IT solutions
• Create a dashboard of visual data to easily measure progress

Training topics include:

• SIPOC
• Project selection and scoping
• Process mapping
• Waste
• Data collection and display
• Standard work
• Batching
• 5S
• Poka-Yoke
• Improvement team roles and process
• Visual management
• Change management
• Understanding your customers
• Additional tools

Participants also receive:

• LeanOhio Boot Camp manual
• Lean Tool Kit
• Certificate of Participation
• Access to the LeanOhio Network

LeanOhio Boot Camp was designed by a public-sector team of Lean Six Sigma Black Belts with years of experience in government. Team members have planned, led, and facilitated hundreds of Lean events, including major Kaizen events that have saved millions of dollars.
