Endowment History
The Lorain County Board of Education Endowment was formed in June, 1991 to serve as an advisory committee for awarding grants and a college scholarship and to help raise funds for the endowments held at the Community Foundation of Lorain County. The ESC of Lorain County Endowment Fund was incorporated in 2019 for the purpose of raising funds on its own and holding funds needed for operations in a bank account under its own name and employer identification number. The ESCLC Endowment Fund has been given tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. This means contributions can be made directly to the ESCLC Endowment Fund and will be deductible as charitable contributions to the extent permitted by law. The Endowment Fund will continue to seek contributions to the Community Foundation for the endowments that fund the grants to the Educational Service Center of Lorain County and will continue to award a $1000 teacher education scholarship to one Lorain County graduating senior with plans to major in education.
MISSION
ESC of Lorain County Endowment Fund is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of ESCLC staff and community members committed to supporting, through grant funding, the Educational Service Center of Lorain County teachers and educational professionals in their pursuit of educational excellence.
The Endowment Fund develops and provides a permanent source of supplemental funding for improving the quality of education. The funding will provide a mechanism through which community resources can be allocated for worthwhile educational programs beyond those that are mandated by the state. The ESCLC Endowment Fund shall be used exclusively for the support and enhancement of education and related services as overseen by the Educational Service Center of Lorain County.
Grants awarded by the ESCLC Endowment Fund enrich and enhance academics, the arts, physical and social-emotional development, and other extracurricular activities. Funded projects have provided new programming, new technology, and additional learning opportunities that positively impact many students within the Educational Service Center of Lorain County.
Please consider contributing to the Endowment Fund by completing the

and retun. As little as $2.00 a pay can go a long way.
